Associate Professor Lin Jianhao is a doctor of economics of Sun Yat-sen University, an associate professor of Lingnan College of Sun Yat-sen University, and a doctoral supervisor. The main research directions include: central bank communication and expectation management; Innovation policy; Culture and economic behavior. The research results have been published in authoritative journals such as Economic Research, Managing the World, Financial Research, Statistical Research, and Economics (Quarterly), and have presided over many projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Guangdong Provincial Natural Science Foundation.

Associate professor Lin Jianhao first introduced the research background in detail: scientific and technological innovation has become the main battlefield of the international strategic game, and the fifth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee has established the core position of innovation in China's modernization drive. To promote reform around innovation, we need to focus not only on the institutional design and policy support directly related to innovation, but also on the social environment supporting innovation. Intergenerational mobility is the core of social mobility in a region, representing the social equity, especially the degree of opportunity equity in the region. From this perspective, Associate Professor Lin Jianhao discussed the impact mechanism of social mobility on innovation. The study found that social mobility significantly promoted the innovation output of cities. On the one hand, high social mobility can attract all kinds of labor to move in and increase the diversity of the population. Among them, highly skilled immigrants can directly improve human capital. Population diversity and highly skilled human capital can help promote innovation; On the other hand, high social mobility means a more open opportunity structure, encouraging individual competition and risk taking, thus releasing entrepreneurship to promote innovation. In addition, social mobility may also affect the effectiveness of systems and policies that encourage innovation. Taking the policy of establishing national high-tech zones as an example, social mobility plays an important role in regulating. Research shows that social mobility is not only related to the consolidation of social strata and social stability, but also affects the future of innovation. Improving social mobility should also be included in the policy system to promote innovation.

Associate professor Lian Hongquan presided over the lecture, and more than 90 teachers and students from inside and outside the university attended the lecture online. Our faculty and students had a heated discussion with Associate Professor Lin Jianhao.
